Charlie mindennél jobban vágyik erre. Az utcán talált pénzből megveszi a Wonka-mokkát, benne a nyertes szelvénnyel. Charlie-t nagyapja kíséri el a gyárlátogatásra, ahol sok csodával találkoznak. A többi gyerekről kiderül, hogy csak saját maguk iránt érdeklődnek, nem értékelik Wonka találmányait. Rossz természetük miatt mind olyan galibát okoznak, ami miatt korábban be kell fejezniük a gyárlátogatást. Csak Picur Charlie maradt, aki így megnyeri a főnyereményt, a gyár kapujának kulcsát. Wonka egy dologra nem számított, cserébe őt is nem várt meglepetés, sőt jutalom éri.
